I am Calvin Freitas. I am a web developer, software engineer, and WordPress aficionado. I have lived and worked in the Seattle area since November 2006.

I offer website consulting and development services to my clients. My specialty is using WordPress as a content management system and blogging engine. I code custom WordPress themes and plugins.

My skills include development of dynamic and interactive websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery. I use progressive enhancement and create cross-browser compatible code to craft the best possible user experience for all site visitors. I have worked on sites using HTML5 and CSS3.

I do back-end development using Perl, PHP, and Java. I have familiarity with a variety of frameworks and content management systems.

I have developed Flash and AIR applications using ActionScript and Flex. Examples include an animated playbook system for Athleon.com, a video player, and a slideshow.

I have experience as a system administrator on a wide variety of Linux systems (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, RHEL). I have administrated MySQL servers for numerous projects.
